　　I would like to tell you one thing I did which l consider as a waste of time. It’s me hanging around on the lnternet during one of my weekends, which happened several weeks ago. As to how i did it, well, it's pretty simple. All had to do is to get my computer running and connecting to the Internet.

　　Since l got nothing to do at home and the gossip news could help me kill time, I started to glance over the website without the time sense. I was so drawn to the gossip news of celebrities that i couldn't even take my eyes off the screen. Although it's interesting it was really a waste of time.

　　The reasons why l see it as a time-wasting activity are obvious. The gossip news on the internet was just for entertainment, and it had nothing to do with me. Besides, i could not learn much from this kind of news, unlike the scientific articles, from which i could acquire more practical knowledge and became more knowledgeable. Reading a book is much better than browsing on the lnternet for some useless information.

　　After spending nearly 4 hours on the internet, I started to feel irritable since I realized that i had wasted a lot of time on this meaningless thing. lf i could spend these 4 hours in reading books, I would gain far more knowledge than poking my nose into others’ affairs. So glancing over the gossip news on the Internet is not a sensible choice to kill your time, if you're really bored, you can read a book or watch documentaries instead.
