　　I’d like to talk about photography, one of my talents that I want to improve.

　　It has become one of my hobbies ever since college, when I received my first digital camera that was sent as a birthday present from my dad. I used to take photos of the campus and the places I traveled to. These days, I usually use my smart phone to capture the lovely moments in life since it’s more portable.

　　However, I didn’t realise that I’m talented at photography until I won the competition organized by the community last month. Having been living in this area for 5 years, I had already taken plenty of pictures of the neibourhood and it was easy for me to pick my favorite one as the entry. In the photo, there is the reflection of the modern-styled apartment building in the pond that is surrounded by green trees and colorful flowers, looking quite gorgeous in the sunset.

　　To my suprise, I won the first prize of the competition and the compliments included complete composition, unique angle, ingenious light and the delicate work. But in fact, I never learned any theories or rules of photography. I suppose that is what talent means, and this inspired me to become a part-time photographer, which could be a perfet combination of passion and career.

　　That’s also why I want to improve my talent in photography. I think I need to learn some professional knowledge and skills in terms of composition, lighting and retouching, which will help fullfil my potential. Luckily, my cousin is a professional photographer who can teach me a lot. I think I can make quick progress with his guidance.
