　　There is always a discussion about whether we need a global government or not. Despite of the disadvantages and hardness of building an international regime, I hold the view that having one is way better than not.

　　People oppose the construction of only one government around the world for several reasons. Firstly, there are 197 nations on the planet with diverse national conditions including ideologies, histories, cultural backgrounds, social and economic status, which requires concrete analysis of specific issues of different countries. Common policies cannot solve individual problems and do not apply to each country. Secondly, the establishment of a single government will cause the loss of diversity, especially from the perspective of culture. Under the regulation of a single regime, cultures among states tend to become homogenous, with the result of decreasing languages and customs.

　　Nevertheless, I still hold the opinion that we should build an international government as we have already made several attempts like the United Nations and a variety of international and regional organizations. First of all, through administrative measures and making law, nations can be regulated by the central government, thus there will be fewer conflicts between regions and global peace can be achieved. In addition, a central government plays a major role in the allocation of resources, as well as the sharing of knowledge and advanced technology. Therefore, it will be much easier to achieve a balanced development among different countries and poverty alleviation as well. Lastly, the function of an international government can be maximized in solving a number of global issues, such as climate change, immigration, population explosion, terrorism, which requires macro-control by a central government and close cooperation among states.

　　In a word, although a global central government indeed has its negative side and is tough to achieve, I still consider it as a beautiful vision of mankind. The positive impact brought by an international government does outweigh its disadvantages.
