　　There is a likelihood that old people will find their later life more enjoyable if they reside in a retirement community. For one thing, a wide range of activities are often organised by the care centre, such as performance nights, cooking competitions and regular outings. Meanwhile, different learning programmes are also established where old people’s participation in courses including photography and drawing can diversify their life. For another, they have peers who may share similar experiences to talk to, which is different from the life with their adult children in which no common topics can be focused on. Therefore, their life will be monotonous and boring.

　　Additionally, living in such a community can provide old people with better medical services. In nursing homes, there are well-trained care givers who take the responsibility for old people’s daily life; they design various healthy diets especially for the old to help them keep fit. Also, professional doctors are always in place. If the elderly feel unwell, effective treatments can be offered immediately. In most cases, however, it is these old people that attend to their adult children and even grandchildren because their sons or daughters are busy with work. Moreover, old people’s emergencies cannot be properly dealt with by their adult children who are not medical experts.

　　In conclusion, I totally concur that living in retirement homes instead of with their adult children is of great benefit to senior citizens. This is because an interesting life can be made available to them; meanwhile their healthcare will be better.
