　　Some people believe it is the responsibility of government to transport children to school. While others believe parents should transport their children to school. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

　　Transporting children to and from school is a necessity in present-day society. Nevertheless, there is debate as to which party holds this obligation. Whether this task is the responsibility of government or parents will be explored.

　　On the one hand, parents in this day and age are inundated with work from their employers as well as in their daily lives. Therefore, it is extremely difficult for them to spare time to get their kids from home to school and vice versa. If government can focus on transporting children to school, parents could fully concentrate on their careers and save this valuable time to do what they choose. Furthermore, if government transports kids to school, it would reduce the traffic burden during rush hour as numerous kids would likely commute by bus, leading to a decrease of private cars on the roads and clogging up school entrances before and after school.

　　On the other hand, parents are the main caregivers of children and it is their duty to get their kids to school in the mornings and pick them up when school is dismissed. Moreover, if parents are unavailable, they could ask their relatives or friends to pick up their kids, which is certainly not a hassle at all. When parents pick up kids, it may also reduce the incidence of accidents or safety issues on the roads. It is very difficult for one bus driver to take care of a large number of children, let alone ensure that every child gets home safely. It would be a huge challenge and burden for school workers to manage getting kids back home, particularly young ones, as they do not understand the rules of the road or cannot easily pay attention to safety.

　　All in all, although there are numerous benefits of having government handle the task of transporting children to school, it is much safer for children if their parents are in charge of this. Parents can truly care for their children’s safety to make sure they reach school and get back home smoothly on a daily basis.
