　　The reading passage gives three reasons why cottage production became factory.However, the professor in the listening casts serious doubt on what has been stated in the reading.

　　First of all, although it is asserted in the reading that this shift could be attributed to new technology, the professor challenges this idea by pointing out the fact that new technology and new machines are quite easy to operate and assemble, which means factory is not the only place where new machines are applied.

　　In addition, the passage claims that because of property right, many factories were established. Yet this has been attacked by the professor who explains that this is not strong evidence because other places strengthened the property protection, but hardly any cottages were changed into factories, so the professor believes that there must be other reasons.

　　Lastly, reading passages believes that factories can reduce transportation cost, but the listening materials total refutes this, with an explanation that overall cost cannot be reduced. The professor also adds that in spite of the decrease in transportation cost, other costs would be produced,like recruiting management team to manage and supervise employees.
